Whiskeytown Water Falls Whiskeytown Water Falls
Whiskeytown has four major waterfalls that you can visit all year including Whiskey Falls, a 220-foot waterfall that was only a secret to the few that new it existed. The best time to visit the waterfalls is in the spring when the creeks are bursting with the runoff from melting snow. During the summer months a hike to a waterfall provides a cool break from the heat of the valley.

Hiking, Mountain Biking & Horseback Riding

Hiking, Mountain Biking & Horseback Riding
What a perfect way to see abundant wildflowers in the spring, experience the glory of fall colors or catch a glimpse of the past as well as view wildlife in their natural habitat. Mountain trails along shaded corridors and eight year-round creeks offer a refreshing break from the summer's heat. Whether hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding - the land surrounding Whiskeytown provides many opportunities for these activities.

Fishing Fishing
Whiskeytown Reservoir, a premier Redding area kokanee salmon and rainbow trout fishery, doesn’t receive the boating or fishing pressure that nearby Lake Shasta gets, so you can expect to fish in relative solitude when you hit this lake. While known best for its big kokanee, Whiskeytown also yields great year round brook and rainbow trout action for shore anglers.

Shasta Historical Park Shasta Historical Park
A Gold Rush Era town, Shasta Historical Park is located six miles west of Redding. Highway 299, also the main street, passes through the middle of town. The park features a restored courthouse, now a museum, historic ruins and a cemetery.
